Of all the animals, the horse has probably most closely shared in human adventures and has been most intimately allied with human progress. For thousands of years, the horse has participated in the pleasures, the dangers, and the hard work that have marked human life. Limited to isolated populations from southern India and Sri Lanka through Assam to Vietnam and southern China, and south to the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. Elephant ias an impressive and intelligent giant. It spend it time ambling throught forests in small herds, searching for fresh pastures to satisfy its purely vegetarian diet. Cheetah

Most cheetah are found in East and Southern Africa, with the greatest numbers occuring in Namibia. The critically endangered Asiatic cheetah is found only in Iran, mostly on the edge of the Kavir Desert. Cheetah are superb sprinters. Using a brief burst of phenomenal speed, they can outrun any other land animal. The cheetah does not look or move like any other big cat. Meerkat

The Meerkat is found on the dry plains and semi-desert in and around the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa. It range covers parts of Angola, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. It prefers open ground. It lives in colonies of up 30 animals in the Kalahari Desert, where temperatures soar by day and plummet at night. Shelter is scarce here, so meerkats have many burrows within their foraging territory where they sleep and take refuge. When foraging, at least one member of the gang acts as lookout, sitting up or standing to get the best view. [Read more]

Lion once lived in southern Europe, throughout Africa and parts of Asia, but today are confined mainly to African game reserves. About 300 of the Asian subspecies live in the Gir Forest in India. King of Beasts is a well deserved title for this proud and powerful predator. The lion is everyone idea of big cat, equipped with sharp teeth and huge paws to bring down large prey.
